Free Shop

When and where is the Free Shop?

The Free Shop is on the 8th of the month (regardless of what day it is, weather permitting), from 10AM until 4PM. It takes place where Gentleman's Walk meets the Haymarket in Norwich City Centre. (Outside the mobile phone shop called The Link, opposite the soap shop called Lush).

How does it work?

Bring anything that you don't want (and think someone else might want) and take what you do want. There is no obligation to bring anything (or take anything).

Why we do it

We see the Free Shop as a good example of recycling in action. As anarchists we want to encourage people to share what they have, and question whether everything should be for sale. We also hope that it is a resource for the seriously hard up - we see it as a direct mutual aid project.

Great! I want to bring tonnes of stuff!

If you want to bring tonnes of stuff, it's best to bring it towards the start of the Free Shop, rather than at the end for logistical purposes.

Are there any other freeshops?

Other freeshops happen sporadically around Norwich. Sometimes there is one at the UEA. There is also a regular feeshop in Ipswich.
But there is nothing stopping you from setting up your own freeshop. All you need is a table and stuff that you don't want anymore.

If you have large items we recommend you try freecycle .
